The Happi Team
Based in new offices near Bath, the happi team are part of Mayden Health, combining more than 25 years experience in analysing health datasets within the NHS, with state of the art web design skills. The
team are also currently working with the Department of Health on the CQuINS Cancer Peer Review on-line database and have developed a dynamic, integrated web infrastructure which can be deployed by any NHS organisation.

Chris May |
|
Originally from a manufacturing and engineering background, Chris May held a senior fellowship at Cambridge University where he specialised in project and information management. Chris has concentrated on the health service for the past fourteen years.
From 1990, he held a number of senior management roles at Papworth Hospital and was subsequently a freelance consultant in health information management. In 1994 he joined Finnamore Management Consultants where he rose to the level of managing consultant before leaving to form Mayden Consulting in May 2000.
Chris has a wealth of expertise in analysing NHS data sets and developing models to support health projects, whether strategic or clinical reviews, Trust mergers, bed planning or business cases. In forming Mayden Health he is now pursuing his main interest in bringing this wealth of experience to the web and making it more widely available across the NHS. |

Luke Sturgess-Durden |
|
Luke spent 2 years teaching Maths and IT before gaining the position of Database Manager for Sofa Workshop in 1999.
Luke has over 5 years experience in Database and Web Application Development. Projects include working on the innovative Talking CV, building an online database of National Occupational Standards and the development of CQuINS.
Luke has a wide range of expertise covering all aspects of dynamic web development from ASP.NET to XML, specialising in PHP and MySQL.
Luke is responsible for developing the back-end processing engine which powers the happi report wizard. |

Juliette McCormack |
|
Juliette has 12 years experience as a business analyst with particular expertise in strategic information management in the health sector.
Juliette worked in the Directorate of Strategy & Business Development at an NHS Trust (an acute community and mental health Trust) where she developed a comprehensive Market Position Statement for acute services and an Executive Information System for community, mental health and paramedic services. Juliette provided ad hoc information for Directors of the Trust Board as well as developing a monthly report combining information from a variety of sources to help more informed decisions.
Juliette moved to a management consultancy where she provided information to support the consultancy team. This work was very varied and included: service planning and performance review; mapping and demographic analysis; database and spreadsheet modelling; project planning; questionnaire design and analysis.
Juliette now focuses on database design and development, primarily within the NHS, and has developed a series of sophisticated tools to enable rapid cleaning and analysis of NHS data; these tools are used to create the happi dataset from the raw data received from PCTs. |

Tom Trentham |
|
With a strong scientific background in Physics and Maths, Tom focussed his study at University on Computer Science with a particular leaning towards software engineering. His skills encompass the entire software lifecycle from requirements capture to system testing and everything in between.
As a recent graduate, Tom made the move to professional web applications development having had a keen interest in web technologies for many years. His skills range widely from server-side PHP, ASP, JSP and Servlet scripting to client-side HTML, JavaScript and XML expertise including MySQL database design and SQL programming. However, his particular fascination is in Object Oriented Design utilising the UML and J2EE technologies.
Tom has rapidly gained broad experience in website development, being involved in numerous projects from small intricate web sites to large commercial web applications. He has developed the front-end of the happi site including dynamic content presentation and the user interaction system.
